Father's Day
The origin of the modern English “Father” is from the Sanskrit
word “Peter”. We Nepalese must have heard our priests chant this particular
word while performing the Shraddha ritual.
Shraddha means paying homage to the ones who live in the heavenly adobe. On
this auspicious occasion of Father’s Day, those sons who respect the divine
fatherly figure go to Gokarna to let
go of their ego by donating fruits and giving similar offerings. This place is
relatively far away from Kathmandu city but devotees with a private vehicle can
comfortably reach there. It is uncustomary for sick individuals, women, children,
old–aged and physically disabled men to perform such rituals. The masculine power
is the power to generate healthy fear for inspirationally motivating human
beings in the thorny journey of life. I am ending short (135 words) piece with this
